Making Changes During the Year
Life happens! In general, you can only make changes to your benefits at annual enrollment. But if your family goes through a big change, you may be able to make changes to your elections mid-year. Qualifying changes include:
- Marriage
- Birth or adoption of a child
- Divorce
- Legal separation
- Ineligibility or death of a dependent child
- Death of a spouse
- If your spouse’s employment changes in a way that affects your benefits and the benefits of your dependents
Navigate to the Total Rewards tab on Connect then select Benefits. From there, click to enroll, view or change your benefits. Remember, you must make your change within 30 days of the event, and your change must be related to the event. For example, you can move from Employee Only coverage to Employee + Spouse if you get married. Once you enroll, your benefits will be retroactive to the event date. If you miss your deadline to make the change, you’ll have to wait until the next annual enrollment.
